Cost Control Engineer/Senior

Job description

Overseeing the entire lifecycle of capital expenditure projects, from initial budgeting and planning through execution and post-completion analysis. Ensuring effective planning and implementation of the capital expenditure portfolio, including portfolio formation, assurance, and turnaround support.

Responsibility

• Portfolio Management: Oversee and manage the CAPEX portfolio, aligning with the 5-year plan.
• Cost Management: Administer the cost application process, monitor expenditures, and ensure cost control.
• Post-Project Review: Conduct post-project reviews to assess performance and identify lessons learned.
• Financial Planning: Develop cost estimates, business cases, and annual/monthly forecasts.
• Financial Control: Audit financial data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
• Business Case Development: Develop strong business cases, explore alternatives, and maximize ROI.
• Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field.
• Profound Experience in cost management in the fertilizers, Oil and Gas or chemical industry (minimum of 5-7 years)
• Have a full understanding and differentiation between the CAPEX and OPEX and their financial treatment
• Fundamentals of Cost management (estimation and control)
• Familiar with IFRS (Plus)
• Inventory & Taxation (Plus)
• Understands strategic approach and addresses inter-dependencies and real issues
• Clear definition of requirements and timetables
• Solid oral & written communication skills
• Organized and efficient in work processes
• Expert in MAXIMO and MS Excel
• Proactive approach, ability to execute projects with minimal guidance and supervision.
